OK, so there are some reasons why it might be desirable to run Windows programs on Linux, but why use WINE? Why not just use an emulator such as VMWare? The truth is that when WINE works, it outperforms VMWare. I only want to point out that there are some valid reasons why companies that have already rolled out Linux to a limited degree may want to press forward in their transition. Please note that I’m not writing this article to debate which is the better operating system.
